In Ecuador, William Hernandez, executive director of FECD (a nonprofit social development organization) has placed the “Literacy of the Pause” as the cornerstone of sustainable human development. Promoting ‘Literacy of the Pause” as part of Social Development efforts has opened up new possibilities for more affective, and less fragmented interactions among individuals and communities. It has provided a more humanized Social Development model for building economic prosperity and wellness by attending to both internal and external transformation. People, independent of their living conditions and education have learned to attend to their inner felt awareness thanks to the Pause.
